How do you know if a weimaraner suits your needs and your home? One sign that may indicate that this regal-looking gun dog is for you is if you have an outdoorsy lifestyle, and is highly inclined to recreation. If you think you have an affinity with the weim’s near-limitless energy, then the weim may make a very dedicated and loving pet for you.

Knowing that well-behaved weimaraners usually start weimaraner training at a puppy age, you naturally need to get in touch with a breeder with many weim puppies to choose from. If you are going to ring up a local breeder, you thus need to check and double chedk if the breeder is registered. A visit to the breeder for a look at the puppies need to turn up animal facilities that are spic and span. But if the facilities are ill-maintained, this speaks volumes about what kind of dogs come from there. To sum up, you need to be sure that the breeder is caring well for the puppies, and that they are being provided with a healthy environment most especially in the first few weeks.

When you have finally selected the breeder to transact with, you can now start dealing about weims. One of the many things a good breeder will talk to you about is what kind of work or activities do you plan to involve your weim in. Share all your reasons for getting a weim. On your part, listen carefully to what he or she advises, checking on just how knowledgeable he or she is about raising this breed. Be careful about presumptions about the personalities of weims, since even highly trained and disciplined weims do not have similar personalities. A hunter weim has a lot of differences from a pet weim, and both differ from a police dog weim.

If you are keen on a weimaraner for competition or for show, you then all the more need to take time making a prudent choice. As you look among the puppies for the potential show dog that is also receptive of weimaraner training, you obviously have already studied what kind of standards do competitions ask of the participants. Any of your doubts are of course best fielded by the breeder, who is capable of valuable advice to help you choose.

Lastly, no hunt for the star puppy is complete without studying the pedigree and the dog’s relatives. For example, a clear mark of a good breed is to have titles attached to the names of parents or grandparents of the weim puppy. There is indeed a lot of valuable input in looking up the traits and work of the puppy’s predecessors in order to know more of its “professional” caliber.

An active individual looking for a dog will find the weimaraner a perfect fit into an active lifestyle. This gun dog breed packs great energy and sharp instincts in a handsome and streamlined package. But their devoted and loyal spirit also make them good pets. But this versatile dog also demands a lot when it comes to companionship, play and exercise. In fact, many an ill-informed or presuming owner have given the dog up for underestimating the dog’s brimming energy.

If properly raised, a weim will amiable absorb that is also receptive of weimaraner training and a natural sports animal too. Its form will easily turn heads, and still more with its intelligence, agility, alertness, and courage. The weim’s original breeders, German aristocrats developing a versatile gun dog, must have had their expectations surpassed in this breed. Just as then and up to now, the weim is an active dog with great demand for exercise and play, plus enough room to permit running and playing. Any weim owner is thus perhaps only rarely going to mention a tired and spent weimaraner.

If there is one thing to be wary about in the weimaraner, it would be the dog’s inclination to hyperactivity. It simply refuses to be some common hound or retriever that adorns the couch or the living room floor with its sleeping form when owners are distracted. It is an energetic dog that may prove too much to contain when agitated, but then again how much training for discipline the dog received will also be important. A game of tug of war with this dog will give you a hint of how much power this dog really has. But rough games may be out of the question, not because you will simply tire and give up first more than the dog, but because the dog may feel encouraged and tolerated to display aggression.

If you love running, the weim may just be the ideal jogging buddy for you. But it is likely that the dog will simply want to stay ahead though you hold the leash, like what happens in hunting or tracking trips. With its remarkable power, the dog will want to poke holes again and again at your leadership. So if you really want a weimaraner, but cannot personally give it some weimaraner training, try sending it to obedience school. If you enroll the dog between its second and fourth month, it may already know how to follow basic commands way before the start of its adolescent years.

To end, the weimaraner is indeed a superbly talented and hard-working dog that unfortunately is meant for a few. A prudent weim owner-trainer is ultimately responsible for making sure that the dog’s energies are spent daily on a variety of formative and productive activities. Running around blocks in the neighborhood is not the least of these ways. Tracking scents and hunting are other examples of work that will keep this valuable pet and friend busy.

Have you ever wondered if your pet Great Dane deserves to be in show? Or do you have plans of getting your Great Dane puppy to be in shows later on? If you need hints on these concerns, then read on. Compare and contrast the traits of your own dog against the following to verify if your dog is made of “professional”, or show-material stuff.

Height and Weight

The height of Great Dane male dogs is usually 30 to 34 inches or around 76 to 86 centimeters. On the other hand, female Great Danes are 28 to 32 inches or 71 to 81 centimeters high. Now, the weight of a Great Dane is around 120 to 200 pounds for males and 100 to 130 pounds for females. If your Great Dane slightly pushes beyond the range provided then it is deemed to be of higher value. The Dane is among the world’s tallest breed of dogs. So, in order for them to be acknowledged as of professional caliber, your dog needs to be of outstanding height.

Good Pedigree

In order for the dog to be of fully professional material, it needs to be seen that the dogs have a sound mind, longevity, body and health. All the breed members that are able to make it to the shows are certified as free from inherited or indigenous issues. Your Great Dane must have no disqualifying faults, and has the breed’s traits of a buff sport-loving canine, with a positive bond with humans. It will be even better if your dog is an example in at least some of the conformation traits, sometimes due perhaps to great dane training. If so, then you have a dog maturing into a possible Professional Great Dane!

Superior Traits

A Great Dane of show caliber needs to have an excellent disposition, plus outstanding health. Nothing less is to be observed but the blend of balance and proportion. Thus, for example, the onlooker of average knowledge in sizing up champions will nevertheless remark that your dog looks dignified and moves gracefully. Think how much more refinement the dog would exude if it experiences great dane training!

Color Varieties

Color varieties are also a very influential criteria that determines if the dog is a worthy show dog or not. For your dog to be determined as belonging to the professional group, your dog’s color needs to be among any of the recognized categories, among other factors. Sometimes, the rules here can be down to the last detail, so beginner to the in’s and out’s of even this concern are cautioned not to get confused. One of the rules, for example, stipulate that the white Great Dane ought to have black ragged patches, which must never resemble the Dalmatian spots. Among the no-no’s that conventions list are solid blue, black, white, or tan markings on Great Danes, which are disqualifications.

Lhasa Apso Video

A Lhasa Apso dog is a wonderful companion and certainly an extremely important member of the family.

They give unconditional love and expect nothing in return but your love and attention. We can certainly learn a lot from our dogs can’t we?

Your pet greets you with excitement, a wagging tail and dog kisses whether you have been away for one minute or for many weeks. I never get sick of this!

Research has shown that pets, such as dogs and cats, reduce peoples stress levels and lower their blood pressure.

Your Lhasa Apso can amuse and entertain you, keep you from getting bored and turn a bad or boring day into a great one. A dog loves you no matter what you wear or how good or bad you look.

They teach their owners about devotion, acceptance and patience and in return, you nurture your pets and care for them.

In return, we, the owners try to teach our dog’s acceptable behavior to prevent dog behavior problems, such as excessive barking.

How Your Lhasa Apso Communicates

Yes, I know the picture is not of a Lhasa Apso, But I just couldn’t resist using this!

OK… so when any dogs bark, growl, whine or even howl it is a natural and normal behavior and their way of communicating with each other and with their human families.

Starting when they are young puppies they use vocalization to communicate. This may include crying sounds when they are frustrated, afraid, hurt, or soft whining sounds when they are hungry or cold. Older dogs make many different sounds for many different situations such as:

* Whimpering or Whining – Dogs often use whining or whimpering as a means of communicating when they seek attention or show submissiveness when greeting other dogs. Many also whine when they are in pain, frustrated, lonely or want something, such as a dog treat or someone to take them for a walk.

* Howling – Many dogs use howling as a long-range means of communicating. If a dog hears another howling in the distance they often howl back as a form of communicating. Some howl when they hear sirens, certain music or go hunting.

* Growling – As most owners will tell you, dogs growl not only as a warning, to show aggression, dominance and in defense but also when playing. A wagging tail and lots of movement often accompany play growling. You can tell the difference between play and aggressive growling by a dog’s posture; a dog that remains stationery, snarls or stares is using an aggressive growl and they are serious.

* Dog Barking – Barking dogs and excessive barking are ways dogs communicate. Some breeds are trained to bark, such as working or herding dogs and guard dogs. Although barking is normal behavior often used to get attention show excitement and other emotions, excessive dog barking may create many problems.

For the most success with lhasa apso puppies; it is a good idea for you take the time to do a little online research.

Tell Me About Excessive Lhasa Apso Barking Then.

Lhasa Apso barking turns into a problem when the barking becomes loud, unwanted, inappropriate or excessive.

When people hear continuous dog barking, is not only disruptive but also causes stress and annoyance to you and others, such as neighbors.

Nervous, uneasy or lonely barking often happens when your pet is home alone and they experience separation anxiety or fear.

As your Lhasa Apso becomes more upset, lonely or anxious, the barking gets higher and louder and often annoys neighbors. Many dogs think than when you close the door and leave you are never going to return and this starts the continuous, loud barking.

What’s Your Lhasa Apso’s Environment Like?

An uninteresting, boring environment that offers no stimulation often creates a bored barker, that makes a lot of noise as an outlet for his or her pent-up energy.

Lhasa Apsos left alone outside or inside for long periods often demonstrate this continuous barking behavior.

They are social animals, and when confined alone in a kennel or yard the result is excessive barking because they are bored or lonely and want attention.

Since nobody is there to stop them from barking, it almost becomes a hobby to them

Dogs love playing ball, Frisbee and other games with their owners and often bark when they become excited. Unfortunately, some get too excited and the dog barking turns into a major problem for anyone within hearing distance.

Did You Know This?

The percentage of male and female purebred and mixed bred Lhasa Apsos that bark excessively is essentially the same,

Lhasa Apsos that do not get enough exercise often bark or whine to release tension. Some dogs seem to be very hypersensitive to movements and sounds around them.

Often, when a person gets a new puppy and it barks, they shout at them to stop their barking. Unfortunately, a puppy takes this as a sign that you are answering them back so they continue and this eventually turns into excessive barking or inappropriate dog behavior.

Sometimes owners unintentionally train their Lhasa Apso to bark by giving them the attention they want. If your Lhasa Apso barks to go in or out, for a treat, to play ball, for a tummy rub or other reasons, they learn quickly that barking will get results!

How About Some Tips To Help Control Barking Then?

Well, here are a few proven tips on teaching your Lhasa Apso to stop his or her excessive barking:

* As amazing as it sounds, teaching your Lhasa Apso to speak or bark on command is a simple way to teach them to cease barking.

Find something that makes them bark, such as holding their toy or treat away from them. Once they bark, praise them and keep repeating the word ‘speak’.

When you do this often enough, your Lhasa Apso learns that the word speak means bark and the dog will start barking on command.

Now you teach them the word ‘stop’ or ‘quiet’. You do this when they are barking, say the word and give them their treat or toy.

When repeated often enough, it does not take long for your dog to figure out that saying the word quiet or stop, means for them to stop barking and they’ll receive a reward.

If someone comes into your home and you tell your dog ‘quiet’ and it stops barking, praise him or her and always keep reinforcing your dog’s good behavior.

* The best way to teach your dog to stop barking is by training them well when they are very young. If you have an older dog, don’t give up though!

* There will be times when you must leave your dog alone. To get your pet used to this without barking, start by leaving the house just for a few minutes.

Never make a fuss of your dog when you leave and after being gone a few minutes, come back in. Again, do not make a fuss of the dog.

Gradually increase the time you are away but make it seem very natural so your dog knows you will return. This way they do not feel so stressed.

* Some Lhasa Apsos are calmer when they hear a person’s voice so try leaving the radio on low.

* Try keeping your Lhasa Apso away from things that start him barking, such as looking out the window. Close your curtains or blinds and if this doesn’t work, give the command ‘quiet’ or ‘stop’, then slam a book down or shake a can full or marbles, to make a loud noise. Once he is quiet, have him sit, praise the dog and give it a treat.

* Exercise and mental stimulation are extremely important and help keep dogs from nuisance barking or exhibiting bad dog behavior.

Letting your Lhasa Apso out in the yard for a few minutes is not enough exercise. Your pet needs a long walk, brisk exercise or playtime daily, to run off some of his energy and keep his barking controlled.

Remember that a tired dog does not bark as much. On a walk, your dog smells and sees different sights, which keeps him from getting bored. Try teaching your Lhasa Apso new tricks or obedience training, as they need mental stimulation to keep them from barking.

A Final Word For You.

When properly exercised, rewarded and trained there are very few Lhasa Apsos that cannot learn to control their barking.

It is very important to remember that dogs bark as part of their natural behavior, just like humans speak to communicate. Never try to completely eliminate dog barking from their repertoire, and only use positive training methods to accomplish this.

Most Lhasa Apso owners will be able to curb or prevent problem barking.

Need More Help?

I hope this short outline introduction to Managing Barking has been helpful for you.

While Great Danes may have originated from the Irish Wolfhound or Greyhound families some people also believe that their history originates from the Mastiff family of dogs from Tibet. The Great Dane breed has been around for a long time and made their mark as loyal and loved companions for people. Some of the tasks they have performed throughout history include participating in battles, pulling carts and guarding property. Due to their speed and size they have also been used for hunting. The size of the Great Dane makes it a good candidate for being a watchdog dog. Great Danes are known as gentle giants and are sweet and affectionate in nature.

Consider these tips before buying a Great Dane:

Great Danes are working dogs and need plenty of exercise. If you jog or run your Great Dane will be your perfect companion as it needs 1-1 1/2 hours of exercise per day. Perhaps you are not at home very much and a smaller dog that requires less attention may be more suitable. You will need a lot of space in your yard for a Great Dane to roam around in. If you want to keep your dog inside the yard, you will need a strong fence. Like all puppies, it will need something interesting to do while you are away from home. If your dog decides to dig a hole, it will not be small!

Training suggestions

It’s a good idea to start training at an early age, with a large dog like a Great Dane. At around eight to twelve weeks puppies are able to understand some of the simpler commands. Start slowly and reward it for coming when called, sitting when asked to and remember to apply lots of positive reinforcement. Leash training is a good skill to start early. It’s good to get into the practise of forbidding your Great Dane to jump up ever. This may seem harsh but you won’t want the experience of your dog jumping up on a child and bowling it over. The result could be disastrous. . This is particularly important for large dogs as a large dog with dominance issues can be a serious hazard. As cute as it might seem to have your giant puppy taking up all of the lounge room chair, it will be a difficult problem to rectify when your puppy is a fully grown giant. If your dog is allowed to sit in a higher position than you, it will believe it has dominance over you. Avoid this at all costs! Positive reinforcement is crucial in helping your dog understand when it’s doing the right thing and the timing with treats will really solidify your dogs understanding of what you expect. Never use aggression such as hitting or yelling, during training. Trust will be replaced by fear and training will deteriorate further. Your dog will understand a stern voice and respond in a way that pleases you. Your new puppy is a quick learner, if the instructions are clear. To train your dog effectively, you need consistency.

Sadly some unfortunate dogs have developed unhealthy levels of fear. A dog may become so stressed out through his fear that he responds to it by becoming aggressive. Some for of trauma that he has gone through previously has resulted in his fearful disposition. It is not unusual to find a dog seriously stressed out by very loud noises-such as gunshots, thunderstorms or fireworks.

You can easily recognize the body language of a dog with fear aggression issues. It is very likely that you have seen this type of aggression before-it is not a pretty picture. You can recognize fear aggression when you spot a dog that is cringing and skulking around with a greatly exaggerated submissive posture. The dog that is suffering from fear aggression will also carry his tail tucked between his legs and next to his tummy, his ears will be pulled back, and his teeth will be displayed in a snarl as he moans, whines and even growls. All it takes is one look at a fearful dog and you know it is really suffering.

Do not try to pet or comfort a dog that is displaying fear aggression. The danger is that these dogs sometimes lunge out and bite at whatever is closest to them-whether it is the object of their torment or whoever is close by. When a dog’s aggression is turned on something different than the original stimulus for the fear it is called redirected aggression-be sure you are not a victim of this by staying away from a dog with fear aggression problems.

You will need to diagnose the reason behind your dog’s fear aggression before you know the right approach to correcting it. What was the original source of yor dog’s problem? If you have always had your dog since it was just a pup, try to remember any times it had been abused or terrified of something to get an idea of the root of its fear. Your dog may have come to you with pre-existing traumas that caused his fearful ways-for example, he may have been abused by a previous owner. Try to figure out what is triggering his fear episodes by noticing if his fear aggression comes when the dog is around certain types of people, for instance, or maybe when he is around a dominant dog. If your dog begins to act very fearful and becomes aggressive at the approach or another dog or a particular person, you can start to get a pretty clear idea of what is going on inside his poor head. Sometimes it is obvious what is causing your dog’s distress and fear, such as the example of a dog scared of fireworks. But there are other times when the reasons that caused the fear aggression are not so obvious and may seem downright irrational.

Professional veterinarian dog behaviorists can help you diagnose the problem if it proves elusive for you. Remember, in order to correct the fear aggresion problem, you need to figure out what originally brought it about.

Once the fear’s cause has been established, the method to correct your dog’s fear aggression is to attempt to gradually desensitize your dog’s reaction to the fear stimulus. So, if your dog is very afraid of other dogs (perhaps he was attacked as a puppy by a bully dog), the fear aggression correction would begin by exposing your dog to other, friendly dogs a little at a time, until he learns to relax and be comfortable in their presence. Be sure to have him on a leash to control his movement. It might even be a good idea to use a muzzle when you are first working with a dog to correct his fear aggression to prevent the possibility of getting bit yourself during a misdirected biting lunge.

You should only be using positive techniques when tryin to correct your dog’s fear aggression problem. Any negative conditioning will just serve to maintain his fearful state. The problem of fear aggression must be corrected through patience and understanding of what your dog is going through. The problem of fear aggression is curable, but you will have to make sure to take the effort and the time needed to remove the trauma’s effects from your dog’s psyche. You will consider your time and efforts well spent if you can correct your poor dog’s fear aggression and turn him into a happy and confident dog.

I sure hope you have a better understanding of fear aggression so you can get to correcting this problem if your dog has it.

Ever since you saw that beautiful yellow lab puppy looking at you through the glass window at your local pet store, are you finding it hard to erase the memory of it? Their soulful eyes would have definitely caught your heart. You are sure to get an urge to run back to the store and purchase that cute yellow lab puppy then and there. Regardless about how you feel, there are reasons for you to stop acting impulsively and buying a yellow lab puppy that could have come from a pet mill or dog farm.
Mustang windscreen windblocker wind deflector windstop

The yellow lab puppy comes from a famous breed and can be found easily in most places. Having more information about the Labrador dog breed will give you an idea about what you can really expect once the yellow lab puppy turns into a fully grown dog.
BMW Z4 windscreen windblocker wind deflector windstop

The yellow lab puppy will usually have a lifespan of around 12 to 14 years. Some lucky ones can even go up to 19. Getting a dog means that you are required to give it a lifetime commitment. Dogs are man’s best friend. Therefore, you need to take good care of it.
Chrysler Crossfire windscreen windblocker wind deflector windstop

Overall you will find that a yellow lab puppy can turn out to be very happy dogs if they are looked after well by their owners. They can adjust well to new surroundings and are very much playful with both children and adults. When the yellow lap puppy matures into a fully grown dog, they may need a lot of space to live and run around as they are quite big in size.

Sometimes having too many pets in the same household can become a problem, especially when trying to bring in another new pet. If you are about to adopt a yellow lab puppy, you need not have to worry over such minor issues because they can adjust themselves quickly to their surroundings.

If you are an owner of a yellow lab puppy, you’d notice how intelligent they are. Did you know that yellow lab dogs were used to take care of disabled people? Because of their high intelligence level, many institutions today use them for this purpose.

Exercise should become a part of their daily routine. Being overfed and not getting enough exercise can result in the yellow lab puppy getting sick easily.

Puppy Training Manual

Building Trust

If you want to have a great relationship with your dog, it is essential to establish trust between yourself and the dog. You’ll want to begin by making sure you got all the basics for your dog covered, like shelter, food, excercise, love and so on (and don’t forget a lot of physical affection!). If you do this, your dog won’t have any reason not to trust you fully. And if you do all that, your dog will do the rest!

This new training endeavor can prove to be a LOT of fun. It’s an awesome way to get outside with a fun companion and build the bond. This will no doubt make your dog have so much trust in you.

Send Doggy Good Vibes

What you want is your dog to be well-mannered so as to attract only praise. Of all the possible dog training tips, this might be one to write down and think about because it is so foundational. For example, your dog will respond better to training in a positive environment rather than a neglect or abuse environment.

Besides, you want your little dog to be nice around other dogs, children, and adults; to be capable of off leash walking; and to sit, stay, heal on command among other things. For her to successfully enact this good behavior, it starts with you and the kind of positive support system you can give your furry friend. An environment where your dog is not positively looked after and respected will be threatening and will lead to ALL the behaviors that people are constantly searching answers for like chewing, barking, jumping, being aggressive, biting and so forth.

Dog obedience tips that are of any value will confirm all of this; that it is important to create a positive, constructive environment for dog rearing – they need this as much as we do. And hey, a well-mannered dog is such a pleasure to be around when at home or at the park.

Responding to Our Commands

Proper dog behavior, in turn, brings out more of the same and promotes the correct response to your commands, right away, every time!

And when your dog demonstrates this, it is up to you to make sure you give immediate praise, right away. That’s how he learns as opposed to the emotional trauma of being in trouble for things he did wrong! Giving him quick praise sky rockets his self esteem and confidence. And that’s what you want! Right?

Dog Whispering

Dog training secrets of value demand that you position yourself as alpha dog or head honcho. So, you gotta be dominant and the boss. Your dog will respect you for it. Dogs feel more secure knowing who’s at the top of the food chain. This is dog psychology 101. As a dog whisperer, Cesar Millan teaches this. If you want to review four internet dog training courses, click here. Being a whole other species, we must remember and respect the differences and at the same time enjoying our similarities. And we can have a heck of a good time getting into the role of pack leader as long as our actions are appropriate for pack leader and not strict, mean, and punative (always punishing or shouting at our dogs is not nice because our little frinds look up to us just like our kids do). And when your dog sees you as big boss, she will respond VERY positively to you and your commands.

Keep It Simple Smart

Do not give command after command after command hoping your dog will finally catch on. Focus giving ONLY one command at a time, otherwise you will simply confuse the heck out of your dog.

So basically, you wanna get into the mind of your dog and learn and know what she needs in order to learn what you need.

When it comes to wanting to take care of our dog, we want to ensure that our dog receives all of the nutrition needed to lead a healthy and happy life. The best dog food will in most cases be different according to who you ask, but as long as you are buying food that uses as many natural ingredients as possible, then you are certainly off to a fantastic start. In this day and age, keep in mind as well that the best rated dog food is not always 100% going to be the best dog food for your dog.

It’s critical to keep in mind that all dogs are different. One brand of dog food that makes one dog happy and content may cause another to not be able to prevent itself from vomiting on the floor for very long. Because of this, when you are looking for the best dog food available, always consider that it may end up resulting a trial and error situation for some time until you actually find the ideal food for your pampered pet.

Places To Locate The Best

If you are shopping for the absolute best dog food around you may sense that the local supermarket is not the ideal place to start. Unfortunately, this instinct is very often true in actual fact. The reason is because the local big box stores and department stores do not seem to have the more nutritious and higher quality kinds of dog food. Because of this, you may go right to the pet supply shop. Should you end up finding the best pet food there, you may be a little taken back by the price. However, this is to be expected since these are for the most part more expensive shops.

Saving Money On The Best Dog Food

It’s common knowledge that that top quality generally doesn’t come cheap. However, if you are try to keep an eye out, you will probably find yourself a coupon or two that can shave off a few dollars. Although it may not seem like a lot of money compared to the overall price of the best dog food, it is much better than paying full price.

One excellent website is Dog Food Help (http://dogfoodhelp.com). This website introduces the best healthy dog foods on the market, and even has an entire category providing dog food coupons that can save you substantial money at the register. Also available are helpful information on what’s best to feed your dog including a list of 10 top dog food brands, as well as what to do if your dog is too picky about food.

Point your browser to Dog Food Help and discover the best dog foods!
